Stronger warnings needed at falls

Dear Editor,

The Times News article on April 15 was a recitation of the risks and responsibilities but added no solutions. The entrance to the park contains no large announcement of the risks. The parking areas provide no notice. Further discussion of the weakness of all signage would have been appropriate. Apparently it is, as I have observed, very weak. If there were multiple signs at the entrance and at the trailhead to state in unambiguous language "danger of death" and go on to list the dates of the deaths, ages and genders of the deceased, then the young families and teens I constantly see headed down the steps in flip-flops, with animals and improperly outfitted might take the risks seriously. Apparently they don't, and I believe it is because the single sign is totally inconsistent with the risks.Myra Werrin SacksHarrisburg
