Keystone Karate School opens at the Pyramid Sports Center

The Pyramid Sports Performance Center presents Keystone Karate as an option for youths and adults to learn martial arts. Keystone Karate is inside the Pyramid complex at 230 Ocher St., Lehighton, formerly known as Scotties Fashions. Approximately 2,400 square feet is devoted to the school.

The head instructor is David Scott.Keystone Karate formally opened in the Pyramid on March 17, 2014.Keystone Karate offers Tang Soo Moo Duk Kwan, a Korean style of karate that incorporates a healthy lifestyle with the art of meditation.It offers separate classes for children, Little Dragons, ages 2 to 7; Tigers, 8 through 12; and 13 to adult. Classes are held Monday and Wednesday.Master instructors are Robert Kovaleski, a ninth-degree black belt, and his son Eric Kovaleski, seventh-degree black belt. The masters train every Tuesday.The school is a member of the International Tradition of Martial Arts Association.There are 10 instructors: David Scott, John Collins, Tim Hauck, Alex Hauck, Shannon Smith, Jerry Hauck, Samantha Gruber, Alexis Scott, Mike Knepper and Kayla Knepper.For additional information about Keystone Karate, call the Pyramid at 610-379-4630.New classes will be forming.
