Moyer, Heffner run for GOP State Committee

George Moyer and Kyle Heffner have announced their candidacies for nomination to the Republican State Committee in the May 20 primary election.

Moyer, an incumbent, will face five others for the three open seats on the committee. A Norwegian Township resident, Moyer has been elected to two terms. He is a self-employed business owner and a Marine Corps veteran.Moyer said in a prepared statement that he has "taken responsibility for full attendance at all meetings and committee functions and reports to the constituents on a regular basis."Heffner, a political newcomer, has been active in state, county and local campaigns, and says he has held "key positions in some very successful campaign efforts."Heffner is a graduate of Penn State University and worked in the financial industry before taking his current job of "providing the agricultural community with financial and economic development assistance."One male, one female and one third-place vote-getter will be selected to fill the open seats. Moyer is in position three on the ballot; Heffner is in fifth.
