DUI arrests reported

State police at Lehighton reported on several driving under the influence arrests.

On Friday at 5:14 p.m. Deanna Marie Przewoznik, 37, of Lansford, was stopped while operating a 2003 Dodge Neon in the area of Route 209 near Carbon Street in Carbon County, for a traffic violation. She was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.Troopers said a passenger with her, Michael Steven Cardone, 27, of Lehighton, was found to be a wanted person in Carbon County. He was arrested and placed in the county prison.On Saturday at 1:49 p.m. troopers stopped David Homer Miller Jr., 22, of Kunkletown, along Route 248 westbound, near Club Road in Lower Towamensing Township, for a vehicle code violation. At the stop it was discovered that Miller was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also found to be under the influence. He was arrested for DUI and the drug charge.Also on Saturday, about 5:24 p.m. James Cardamone, 48, of Glenside, Montgomery County, was observed traveling at a high rate of speed along Route 209 at the turnpike interchange. A vehicle stop was made and Cardamone was found to be under the influence. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.On Sunday about 8:45 p.m. Paul Kelley, 61, of Lehighton, was stopped during a regulatory checkpoint at Maury and Long Run roads. He was found to be under the influence and arrested for DUI.On Monday at 1:36 p.m. troopers received a call from the sister of Aimee Jo Podrazik, 41, of Bellmore, N.Y., who said she had just left in a 1992 Infiniti sedan and was highly intoxicated. She was later located in the area of Route 209 and Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, and arrested for DUI.Also on Monday, about 5:30 p.m., Palmerton police responded to a report of a hit-and-run in their borough. The suspect vehicle fled the scene traveling north on Golf Road in Lower Towamensing Township.The driver, later identified as Mark David Felker, 21, of Lehighton, lost control of his 2001 Hyundai and rolled it onto the passenger side. Felker was not injured and was wearing his seat belt.A further investigation revealed Felker was under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested for DUI and possession. Palmerton police assisted at the scene.At 11:03 p.m. on Monday Michael Edward Burkert Jr., 19, of Palmerton, was stopped along Fireline Road at Golf Road in Lower Towamensing Township, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence, troopers said.
