Police investigating several crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating several crashes recently along Monroe County roads.

A two-vehicle crash was reported at 3:39 p.m. on Saturday along Route 715 in Jackson Township. Troopers said a 2014 Toyota Camry operated by Rafael J. Valentin, 35, of Tobyhanna, struck a 2011 Chevrolet HHR driven by Susan L. Petrus, 56, of Cresco. No one was injured. Valentin was cited for careless driving, troopers said.Also on Saturday, at 4:26 p.m., troopers said a crash occurred at the intersection of Route 115 and Effort Neola Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Ann M. Butchkoski, 17, of Kunkletown, operating a 2000 Buick Century, pulled out from Effort Neola Road in front of a 1995 Lincoln Mark VII driven by Shane A. Bailey, 20, of Effort, and a collision occurred.Bailey was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance.Butchkoski was cited for a stop sign violation.On April 16 at 8:02 a.m. Christopher M. Cummings, 19, of Effort, was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot northbound on Route 715 in Jackson Township when he lost control due to wet road conditions. The Honda went onto the berm and struck a PennDOT boundary sign and then a Verizon utility pole. Cummings was not injured but the Honda had to be towed from the scene.Cummings was cited for driving too fast for conditions.A one-vehicle crash was reported on April 17 about 9:17 p.m. along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township. Eric H. Brown, 18, of Effort, was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion when he struck a deer. Brown was not injured but the Toyota had to be towed from the scene.Troopers probed a hit-and-run crash on April 7 at 2:45 p.m. along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township, reported about 2:45 p.m.Troopers said Timothy H. Lindsey Jr., 43, of Nescopeck, Luzerne County, was driving a 2008 Ford F250 truck northbound in the left passing lane when the driver's side mirror was struck by another vehicle which was southbound. The other driver failed to stop after the collision.No one was injured.
