Walker Township will receive $15,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community Affairs. The state grant funds come from the Recreational Improvement and Rehabilitation Act (RIRA) program.

According to Robert O. Rarick, chairman of the Walker Township board of supervisors, the money will be used to install a pavilion with picnic tables, purchase and install playground equipment for children, install restroom facilities and add barbecue pits at the township's existing recreation park at the municipal building.
