Drug-related arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on drug-related arrests made by officers.

• On Feb. 23, at 3:11 a.m. officers stopped Giovanna Delacruz, 21, of East Stroudsburg, along Route 940 at Route 611 in Mount Pocono, for a traffic violation. At the stop police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A consent search was conducted and found was marijuana along with a metal grinder.Delacruz was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license and vehicles turning left.• On Feb. 27, at about 1:50 a.m. police observed a vehicle without proper rear lighting along Long Pond Road, at Sullivan Trail, in Tobyhanna Township. A traffic stop was made and the driver identified as Dominick Lauretta, 25, of Tobyhanna.While speaking with Lauretta officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A consent search was conducted and police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Lauretta was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and a general lighting equipment violation.• On March 27, at about 11:55 p.m. officers were called to a domestic family dispute at a home along Ryans Road in Coolbaugh Township.On scene officers learned that Vandell Williams, 19, of Tobyhanna, had marijuana on him and it was taken by her mother. A consent search was made and marijuana was found on Williams. Police also found numerous other bags of marijuana in his room along with a large water bong.Williams was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.• On April 4, at 7:21 p.m. police were called to Wal-Mart in Mount Pocono for a reported retail theft incident. On scene officers met with store security who had Leah Ott, 27, of Saylorsburg, in custody for retail theft. She admitted stealing $238 worth of DVDs, police said.A search of her purse uncovered several items of drug paraphernalia.Ott was charged with the theft count plus possession of drug paraphernalia.• On Tuesday, April 15, at 4:04 p.m. police observed a vehicle with illegal window tint along Route 196 at the PenMart in Coolbaugh Township. A stop was make and the driver was identified as Bobby Taylor, 34, of Pocono Summit.In speaking with Taylor officers detected the odor of marijuana. A consent search was made of the vehicle and police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Taylor was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, illegal sunscreening and driving under suspension.
