A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers responded to a report of a crash on April 4 about 3 p.m. at the intersection of Marvin Gardens and Ventnor Drive in A Pocono Country Place development in Coolbaugh Township.On scene officers observed a vehicle in a ditch. The driver, identified as Antoine Williams, 28, of Tobyhanna, said he turned at the intersection and was on his phone when he drove off the road. The car struck several mailboxes and a street sign before coming to rest in a ditch on its side.Williams had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest and taken to the county DUI center for a blood test.Police said charges will be filed.
