ON THIS DATE

Frank York, Carbon County solicitor, of Nesquehoning, is receiving the congratulations of people today on his assuming the much needed office of Chief of Police there, by the capture of a youth caught in the act of breaking into York's meat market, which adjoins his home, at 1 a.m. today.

Mr. York modestly disclaims any undue credit for the act. He attributes it to a pint-size terrier, which kept up an incessant barking until Mr. York leaped out of bed, procured a gun and proceeded to investigate.
