Three injured in Schuylkill crash

Three persons were injured, two seriously, in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, along Cressona Road in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Amos J. Mowery, 27, of Minersville, was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Spyder northbound while Charles Karasoulis, 85, of Myerstown, Lebanon County, was southbound driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.Troopers said for unknown reasons Mowery entered the southbound lane and collided with Karasoulis' vehicle.After impact the Mitsubishi spun counter-clockwise and came to rest facing east in the northbound lane. The Jeep came to final rest facing northeast turned over onto its driver's side in the northbound lane.Amos Mowery was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, and is listed in critical condition. His passenger, Michelle Mowery, 29, of Minersville, was taken to LVH and admitted in fair condition. Karasoulis was taken to the Reading Hospital and admitted in critical condition.
