A Schuylkill County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 4 p.m. on Friday, April 11, along Interstate 81 in Butler Township.
State police at Frackville said Thomas Robinson, 67, of Pottsville, was driving a 2012 Buick Regal southbound when he lost control on the wet roadway.The car slid across the right lane and shoulder and struck the right southbound guide rail. After impact the car rebounded and slid across both southbound lanes and shoulders and struck the guide rail on the left berm The car came to rest at this point.Robinson was wearing a seat belt and multiple air bags deployed in the crash.Damages were severe to the Buick, which had to be towed. Troopers cited Robinson for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
