Lansford west precinct voters have a new voting location.

During the monthly meeting of the Carbon County Election Board, the board voted to approve Lansford's Borough Building, 26 E. Patterson St., as the new district 25 polling location. This action was because the AMVETS Post 83 closed, said Lisa Dart, director of elections.The new polling place also houses the other Lansford polling district, but Dart said this would not cause issues.She also reported that all the voting machines have been serviced and are working properly, but she said the company stated other issues may arise.The board also discussed a handicap accessibility ramp at a polling location in Tresckow, which was in need of maintenance.Commissioner Thomas J. Gerhard said that the maintenance crew removed the ramp Wednesday and will make necessary improvements to it and then replace it before the primary election.
