Troopers investigate Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating two crashes on Tuesday along Schuylkill County roads.

A rear-end crash occurred at 3:09 p.m. at the intersection of state routes 209 and 901 in Norwegian Township.Troopers said Harry C. Wissler, 59, of Harrisburg, was northbound on 209 and stopped for a stop sign at the intersection when his 2007 Ford E-250 truck was struck in the rear by a 2011 Hyundai Sonata operated by Alicia M. Roten, 32, of Williamstown, who failed to see the vehicle stopped ahead of her.Roten and her passenger, Jeremiah D. Roten, 15, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Wissler was not injured.Roten was cited for following too closely.The second crash occurred about 6:30 p.m. along Route 61, just south of Mount Carbon Arch Road, in North Manheim Township.Troopers said Robert A. Teijaro, 23, of Ringtown, was driving a 1994 Honda Civic northbound in the right lane and negotiating a right curve when he lost control on gravel/cinders along the east berm. The car traveled through both northbound lanes spinning in a counter-clockwise direction with the right side striking the concrete "jersey" barrier.After impact the car traveled north in the left lane for about 160-feet and struck the barrier a second time with the right front end. After the second impact the car traveled northeast and came to rest facing northeast in both northbound lanes.Teijaro and his passenger, Dennis W. Faust Jr., 27, of Pottsville, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Teijaro for careless driving.
