Liquor control board cites two Carbon businesses

Two Carbon County businesses have been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the state liquor code.

The Batters Box Sports Bar & Grille Inc., 10 E. Lehigh St., Summit Hill, was cited for used, or permitted to be used on the inside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard beyond the licensee's property line.The violation occurred on March 8.Roosters Boatyard, 251 Canal St., Franklin Township, was cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to a minor.The violation occurred on Jan. 31.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
