A Schuylkill County driver involved in a one vehicle crash was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and a wanted person. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 9 p.m. on Friday, April 4, along Shady Lane, in Walker Township, outside Tamaqua.

Troopers said Eric P. Maurer, 47, of Pottsville, was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero when it crashed at the above location.Troopers said he was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Maurer also had an outstanding bench warrant for his arrest issued out of Clinton County.Maurer, who sustained a minor injury, was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment of his injuries and a blood test.It was also noted that Maurer was driving under suspension-DUI related. After treatment at the hospital, Maurer was placed in the county prison in Pottsville on the outstanding warrant.The DUI charge is pending the blood test results.
