Scholarship to benefit Weatherly students

The family of the late Anna "Baba" Raynock of Weatherly hasestablished a $10,000 memorial scholarship for Weatherly Area High School students through the Weatherly Area High School Alumni Association. Members of the 2014 graduating class will be eligible to apply for a $500 scholarship which will be presented to agraduate seeking higher education in the medical or nursing field. On hand for the check presentation were, from left: Sue Ann (Raynock) Gerhard, Anna's granddaughter and treasurer of WAHSAA; John Raynock, Anna's son; and Todd A. Gimbi, WAHSAA president. Missing from the photo is Bette Rambaran, association scholarship chairwoman. Anna Raynock was a licensed practical nurse last employed at the Carbon County Home for the Aged. Her son said, "She loved her job and enjoyed working with the residents. This is one way to remember her and the work she so dearly loved while helping students achieve their goals in the medical field."
