A piece of history was lost in Lehighton when a spectacular fire destroyed a home at Seventh and Iron streets known as the "Colonial Court" Estate. The mansion was purchased from the 1901 Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, N.Y. (where President McKinley was assassinated) by attorney Theodore A. Snyder, who died in 1907.

Snyder fell in love with the building and had the seven-bedroom mansion transported here piece by piece via the Lehigh Valley Railroad in 1902.
