Mahoning Township police have filed charges against township resident John Tworkowsky, 21, in connection with an incident on Dec. 10, 2013.

A resident of Lower Nis Hollow Drive had allowed Tworkowsky to stay overnight on Dec. 9. After Tworkowsky left the resident discovered that several pieces of jewelry were missing.Following an interview police learned the stolen items were later sold at a store on First Street in Lehighton.A preliminary hearing on charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property is scheduled for May 7.
