A Monroe County teen is facing a charge of driving under the influence and underage drinking following an incident that occurred about 4:24 a.m. on March 29 at the intersection of Country Place and Robinwood drives in Coolbaugh Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers responded to that location to a report of a vehicle stuck in ditch. On scene officers were told by A Pocono Country Place security that the driver was intoxicated and underage.The driver was identified as Alek I. Lugo, 18, of Tobyhanna. Lugo admitted being underage, consuming alcohol, and driving his vehicle into a ditch.Lugo failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.He will be charged with underage drinking while the DUI count is pending the test results, police said.
