A Schuylkill County woman is facing a charge of aggravated assault after she bit a state trooper.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Tammy Lee Weidman, 33, of Auburn, bit Trooper Jeffrey Hummel as he was placing her in the back of a state police cruiser to transport her to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville.She bit the trooper on his left arm as he was attempting to fasten her seat belt. An outline bruise was left on Hummel's arm. Hummel did not receive any medical treatment, troopers added.The incident occurred at 6:04 p.m. on March 28 outside the barracks in Wayne Township.
