April 1, 2005 Area basketball players help the North All-Stars gain a sweep of the South team at the annual Senior Charity Bowl at Penn State's Schuylkill campus. In the girls contest, Marian's Jen Blasko and Tricia McElmoyle key an early run that leads to a 71-58 victory. The two score eight of the team's first nine points to spark a 17-2 start. McElmoyle finishes the contest with nine points while Blasko ends with eight. In the boys game, the Colts' Greg Lobichusky nets a game-high 15 points during a 91-59 rout. Tamaqua's PJ McCall also adds four points.
