State police at Lehighton are investigating a burglary at a Monroe County residence.
Troopers said a home at 188 Lower Middle Creek Road in Kresgeville, Polk Township, was entered. The home was vacant at the time. Removed were various amounts of copper piping.The homeowner, Edith M. Bullwinkle, 76, of Eatontown, N.J., reported the incident on March 19.Troopers also reported that copper was cut from outdoor appliances and home fixtures at 495 Lower Middle Creek Road sometime between Oct. 1, 2013, and March 24. The home is owned by Judith A. Shiner, 79, of Walnutport.Troopers noted that the crimes are believed to be connected to a series of copper burglaries/thefts in the area.Anyone with information concerning either incident is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
