State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a four-vehicle crash on Saturday, March 22, along SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail), in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the crash occurred as Thomas Bowitz Sr., 73, of Pottsville, driving a 2005 Kia Sedona, and Kelly M. Drouncheck, 32, of Pottsville, driving a 2013 Toyota Highlander, were westbound and approaching a vehicle that was stopped halfway on the shoulder of the road picking up pedestrians.As the two began to slow down David N. Murphy Jr., 25, of Orwigsburg, driving a 1998 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, also westbound, was unable to stop and struck the rear of the Highlander pushing it into the rear of the Sedona.After impact the Sedona went into the eastbound lane where it was struck by a 2007 Pontiac G6 driven by Paul M. Konkus Jr., 36, of Pottsville.Bowitz and a 16-year-old male passenger, also of Pottsville, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville. No one else was injured.Murphy was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
