Marian students receive awards at science competition

Four Marian Catholic High School students received awards during the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Regional Competition held recently at Wilkes University. Barry Fulton was awarded third place in chemistry; Ryan Darrough won two first place awardsfor behavioral science projects, as well as a four-year perseverance certificate; PatrickDarrough took a first place in biology; and Henry Hinchey won first place in chemistry.First place winners will be eligible to attend the state competition, to be held at Penn State University Park in May. Robert Valente, chemistry instructor at Marian, and Lorraine Piehota, retired Bishop Hafey science instructor, served as the students' sponsors.
