Firearms and other items were taken in a Monroe County burglary.

State police at Fern Ridge said a home at 165 Wilson Court, Chestnuthill Township, was forcibly entered through a rear door.The criminals removed bottles of liquor from kitchen cabinets and objects from shelving throughout the home. They also forced open a door to a gun safe and removed several firearms. Also taken was a laptop computer and hip waders. Entry occurred sometime between March 3 and 13. The home is owned by Joyce Lorrainne Baker, of Stroudsburg.Troopers are also investigating a reported theft incident that occurred at 2865 Allegheny Drive, in Chestnuthill Township. A laptop computer was removed from the residence. The home is owned by Joseph Baio, of Staten Island, N.Y. The theft occurred sometime between Jan. 1 and Feb. 18.Anyone with information concerning either incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
