State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two crashes in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, over the past weekend.

A crash occurred at 2:55 p.m. on Friday, March 7, in the parking lot of the Rite Aid pharmacy along Kinsley Drive.Troopers said Laurie A. Vanwinkle, 39, of Stroudsburg, was legally parked in the lot and was loading groceries into her 2003 Jeep Cherokee when Salah Elshinawi, 63, of Saylorsburg, pulled into the lot operating a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Elshinawi failed to brake and crashed head-on into the Cherokee.Vanwinkle and Alexis S. Vanwinkle, 1, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel.Troopers cited Elshinawi for careless driving.A two-vehicle crash was reported at 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, along Route 715.Troopers said Sarah M. Daddato, 19, of Effort, driving a 1999 Chrysler 300, was southbound when her car rear-ended a 2001 Honda CR-V operated by Sydell M. Spinner, 85, also of Effort.Daddato was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance.Troopers cited Daddato for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
