Police discovered a marijuana growing operation in Palmerton today and called in the Allentown Bomb Squad when a suspicious device was discovered.

Palmerton Police obtained a search warrant for a property at 330 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton, where they recovered 17 mature marijuana plants and some seedlings in the basement.

The person who lives at the residence, Damen Rice, 25, will be charged, police said.

No other details were released at this time.
