Traffic stop leads to drug charge

A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Monroe County man on a drug count. It also led to him being placed in custody on an outstanding warrant.

State police at Lehighton said a vehicle stop was made about 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, along Kunkletown Road, west of Weir Lake Road, in Ross Township, for a traffic violation.After further investigation, the passenger, identified as Keith Richard McCarty, 21, of Kunkletown, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant issued to Stroud Area Regional police.While taking him into custody troopers found him in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned on the drug count and then turned over to Stroud police.
