Schuylkill drivers in Lehigh crashes

Two Schuylkill County drivers were involved in separate crashes in Lehigh County on Tuesday, March 4. Upper Macungie Township police investigated the crashes.

Police said the first crash occurred about 7:48 a.m. along Tilghman Street at Blue Barn Road.Stacy Creyer, 50, of Walnutport, was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty eastbound on Tilghman and collided with a 1993 Ottawa Bobtail truck operated by John Polkowski, 55, of Port Clinton, Schuylkill County, who was southbound on Blue Barn Road.Police said multiple witnesses indicated that Polkowski had a green light.Creyer, and passengers Joan Creyer, 70, of Kunkletown, and Jean Cole, 70, of Nazareth, and Polkowski, were all injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township. Police noted Cole sustained a "major" injury.The second crash occurred about 12:39 p.m. at Grim Road and Willard Drive. Police said Verna Ebling, 79, of Schuylkill Haven, was stopped in the northbound lane when she attempted to make a U-turn and pulled into the path of Anthony Sanna, 63, of Reading.Ebling was injured and taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital. A passenger with Ebling, Jacques Ebling, 81, also of Schuylkill Haven, and Sanna, were not injured.
