Lioness Club donates pet food to dog and cat shelters

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club recently made a donation of several large bags of pet food to Carbon County Animal Shelter.

While at the shelter, club members were given a tour and were introduced to dogs that were available for adoption by K-9 officer Tom Connors.Connors said that it take a lot to keep the shelter going and donations such as the clubs is greatly appreciated.After leaving the dog shelter, the club members stoped by the Carbon County Friends of Animals cat shelter to donated some cat food and treats.While at the cat shelter, club members were greeted by several adoptable cats of all sizes and colors.Some cats greeted the club members with a "meow" and some even offered their paw.The club will also be donating pet food to other local shelters and pantries.
