Schuylkill County man faces theft, drug charges

A Schuylkill County man is facing a charge of retail theft, and a drug count, following an incident that occurred at Boscov's Department Store in the Fairlane Village Mall, Norwegian Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Nathan Forker, 30, of Mahanoy City, was observed by loss prevention personnel in the store about 7:34 p.m. on Feb. 28 concealing clothing. He attempted to leave the store without paying for the items and was stopped.He was arrested by troopers and during processing he was found to have three types of controlled substances on his person. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge James Reily, of Pottsville, on the theft and drug charge, and was committed to the county prison after failing post $25,000 straight cash bail.Troopers also reported investigating a retail theft incident at Kohl's Department Store, also located in the Fairlane Village Mall.Troopers said a white male was observed on surveillance video and store personnel placing a pair of black Adidas sneakers on his person and leaving the store.He was described as having dark facial hair, a gray hooded sweatshirt with South Florida in white letters written on the front, dark blue baggy pants, and a black ski hat.
