A Northampton County driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 2:27 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Jason R. Binder, 40, of Pen Argyl, was driving a 2002 Nissan Xterra eastbound on Interstate 78 approaching the Route 309 overpass when, for unknown reasons, he traveled off the road.He continued eastbound off the road until his vehicle struck a concrete bridge pillar beneath Route 309 overpass, head-on.Binder was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers noted he was not wearing a seat belt.Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to call troopers at 610-395-1438.
