They've won seven out of their last 10 games ... Northampton is a hard team to figure out. Before beating Nazareth 38-35 in the District 11 AAAA quarterfinal they were blown out by the Blue Eagles 70-47 and lost a second game to Nazareth 50-43. Back on January 18th, Northampton defeated Pocono Mountain West by 11 points. West defeated Pleasant Valley all three times the two schools played this season... Pleasant Valley is 6-4 in its last 10 games and after running through a gauntlet from January 23rd to February 4th its been able to rest its legs of late. The Bears played eight games in 13 days from January 23rd to February 4th and since then have played just four times ... Pleasant Valley's top three scorers are playing well at the right time. Jordan Meckes and Mackenzie Dorney scored 13 points against Pocono Mountain West on Wednesday, while Keri Dekmar added 8 ... The Bears have qualified for states twice in school history. The first time was in 2003 and the second came under Gauronsky in 2012.QUOTABLE: "I think we played pretty well on Wednesday and if we were able to put four quarters of basketball together we may have won. That's what I'm hoping we're able to do against Northampton on Friday. We know this will be a tough game. Northampton has come on really strong of late and it will be vital for us to stop their top scorer in Leandra Sterner. They're also a little bigger than us, so it will also be important for us to really battle hard on the boards. We have a senior-laden team so I'm expecting us to play with a lot of passion and experience. I know these girls will do everything in their power to try and extend our season." Pleasant Valley coach Nadia Gauronsky
