A tractor trailer driver was charged with hit-and-run following a crash with another tractor trailer along the turnpike (Interstate 476), in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

State police at Pocono said Emiliyan Komar, 55, of Waterford, Mich., driving a 2008 Volvo tractor with trailer, and John C. Grill Jr., 58, of Pittston, Luzerne County, driving a 2009 Kenworth tractor with trailer, were both southbound. As Grill began to pass Komar the trailer portion of Komar's rig struck the front of Grill's tractor.After impact both rigs continued southbound. Troopers said Grill began blowing his horn and continually flashing his lights in an attempt to have Komar stop, but he did not. Eventually a trooper intercepted Komar and made a traffic stop.As a result of an investigation, troopers said, Komar was charged with hit-and-run to an occupied vehicle, careless driving, driving on roadways laned for traffic, and duty to give information and render aid. No one was injured in the incident, troopers added.
