State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of 260 feet of copper wire from a PPL substation in Kunkletown.

The theft happened between Friday, Jan. 24, and Wednesday, Feb. 12, according to troopers.The wire was painted blue. The substation is at 1173 Interchange Road (Route 209).
