State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes that occurred on Monroe County roads ove the past weekend.
A one vehicle crash occurred about 12:47 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township. Troopers said Njunam A. Tam, 32, of Chicago, was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry westbound when the vehicle went onto the berm and through the crossover and then struck a snow bank.Upon impact the car became airborne and struck the bottom of a ditch with the front end.No one was injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Tam for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.A two vehicle crash was reported about 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, at the intersection of SR115 and Rocky Mountain Drive, in Chestnuthill Township.Troopers said Oliver T. Tookes, 65, of Albrightsville, and Richard O. Williams, 52, of Rosedale, N.Y., were both northbound in the right lane of SR115. As Williams slowed down to make a right turn onto Rocky Mountain Drive Tookes failed to slow. The front of Tookes' 2013 Hyundai Sonata struck the rear of Williams' 1998 Mercedes-Benz.No one was injured.
