Four TIMES NEWS Area girls teams and four TIMES NEWS Area girls team begin their quest for a District 11 basketball championship.The Tamaqua boys visit Tamaqua and the Northern Lehigh boys travel to Saucon Valley in Class AAA first round contests at 7 p.m.. The Marian boys will meet Lincoln Leadership Academy in the Class A boys quarterfinal round on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Martz Hall in Pottsville in a 5:30 start.On the girls side, Pleasant Valley, Palmerton, Northwestern Lehigh and Marian are all idle until quarterfinal round action this weekend.Pleasant Valley will take on Mountain Valley Conference rival Pocono Mountain East in a 6 p.m. Girls AAAA quarterfinal at Northampton.The other three games on on tap on Saturday.
