Palmerton Dems to learn 'What's happening at Blue Mountain'

Barb Green, president of Blue Mountain, will update the Palmerton Area Democratic Club on "What's Happening at Blue Mountain Plans for Summit Splash" at the club's meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown.

"The idea of a water park was conceived in 2009 as part of a broader 20-30 year vision for development at Blue Mountain," says Green.Ski Blue Mountain, located five miles from Palmerton at Little Gap, is one of Pennsylvania's premier skiing and snowboarding destinations for both local and international visitors. One of the major employers in the Palmerton area, Blue Mountain also hosts a number of festivals and events throughout the year and offers banquet facilities for weddings and corporate presentations."This expansion at Blue Mountain is a welcome development in the Palmerton area and we are eager to hear more about their plans," said club President, Sarina Berlow.Members are reminded to bring canned goods to the meeting to donate to the food bank run by the Community Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches as part of the club's ongoing community action program.The area covered by the Palmerton Area Democratic Club includes Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Towamensing Township and Lower Towamensing Township.
