A would-be burglar was scared away while attempting to enter a Schuylkill County home by the homeowners' dogs.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 12:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the home at 221 A St., in Girardville. Troopers said an unknown criminal attempted to an entry to the home via the rear door. When he turned the knob on the door the homeowner, not identified by police, left her dogs out and chased the person away.The suspect was described as a white male, about five-foot, nine-inches tall, and heavyset. He was wearing a gray hoodie and black pants.
