Liquor control enforced in Carbon

The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board conducted an age compliance check detail in Carbon County on Jan. 31 between the hours of 5 and 10 p.m.

Police said officers were assigned to supervise an underage buyer to conduct the age compliance checks. A total of six checks were conducted at licensed establishments.Officials said the results of the six checks found three business to be in compliance and three others to be in non-compliance. Noncompliance is defined as a licensed establishment that sold alcoholic beverages to underage individuals trained by the state police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. Compliance meant the businesses did not sell to the underage buyer.Police did not reveal the identities of businesses that were not in compliance but identified three businesses that did not sell to the buyer.
