Police are searching for a man who attempted an armed robbery at the ATM machine at the Wells Fargo bank on Interchange Road in Lehighton.

Franklin Township, Lehighton and Mahoning Township police surrounded the area Saturday night and are still on the lookout today.

The incident was reported about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police have described the man as white 6 foot tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black-and-white bandanna a gray hoodie and blue jeans.

The man went off into the woods, according to scanner reports.
