A Schuylkill County woman escaped injury after her car left a county road and crashed into a utility pole. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred at 2:39 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, along Trenton Street in Delano Township.

Troopers said Sophia H. Meyer, 26, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1993 Buick Regal westbound and approaching a right curve in the road. As she entered the curve where the road crests, the surface changed from completely dry to snow covered.The car began to fishtail, slid across the eastbound lane, then back across the westbound lane. The car then went onto the berm and the front right bumper struck a utility pole, spun 90 degrees, and came to rest in the westbound lane.The car had to be towed from the scene.
