A snow-covered Schuylkill County road was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Matthew A. Yulick, 24, of Minersville, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am eastbound on Schuylkill Mountain Road in Wayne Township, and negotiating a right curve on the snow-packed road.Yulick steered to the right side to allow an approaching plow truck to pass. As he did his car began to slide on the snow and went onto the berm where it struck a utility pole with its left front end.Yulick complained of back, neck and shoulder pain but refused medical treatment, troopers said. Troopers also noted Yulick's 5-year-old son was properly secured in a child safety seat and was not injured.
