Rush Township police investigated two accidents on Saturday.
Thomas P. Betzler, 20, of Easton, was traveling north on Marian Avenue at 1:35 a.m. when he lost control of the Hyundai he was driving. The car struck a fence owned by Air Products and Chemicals.A passenger in the car, Ryan Schweitzer, 20, of Hometown, suffered minor injuries.The Hyundai had to be towed from the scene.Betzler told police he swerved to avoid a deer.At 10:47 a.m., Kera Rodgers, 60, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet, traveling east on Fairview Street, when she lost control of her car. The Chevrolet sheared a utility pole in half, but Rodgers sustained only minor injuries.The car had to be towed from the scene.
