Tax help at PV libraryThe Panther Valley Public Library will offer assistance in preparing income tax forms 1040A and 1040EZ forms and PA state tax returns beginning Feb 6.This service will be offered at the library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for seniors aged 60 and older. Donations to support the library will be accepted.Other interested individuals will be assisted on Thursday evenings from 5-7 p.m. A fee will be charged for these services with all proceeds to benefit the library.Appointments are required for these services. Call the library at 570-645-3780 to schedule an appointment or for more information.Summit HillFood pantry2014 food distribution dates for the Summit Hill Food Pantry are as follows: Tuesdays, Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 25, April 15, May 27, June 24, July 22, Aug. 26, Sept. 23, Oct. 28; and Mondays Nov. 24 and Dec. 22.The food pantry is located in the Summit Hill Heritage Center on Hazard and Chestnut streets.Distribution will take place between 10-11:30 a.m.There is to be no parking in the alley prior to 9:45 a.m. and absolutely no parking in the vacant lot.Recipients are reminded to bring along extra strong shopping/tote bags.LansfordSt. John LutheranTonight at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship.This will be a spiritual, peaceful, evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief, musical, evening prayer.
