The sophomore bounced back nicely after a loss in his first match of the tournament and put together four straight wins. Rex jumps from honorable mention to second after an impressive showing last week. The sophomore went 6-2 a week ago with only three wins coming by forfeit. Two wins came by fall, one in the first period. Neff drops from second to third after earning a forfeit win in his only match last week. Still, the freshman has won his last eight matches, six by forfeit. Wehr went 2-1 a week ago, with his only loss coming by an 8-3 decision to Rex.113 - 1. Len Ogozalek, Panther Valley, Sr. (22-4); 2. Tanner McHugh, Tamaqua, Fr. (20-7); 3. Zachary Kemmerer, Lehighton, So. (19-6).Honorable Mention - Ryan Dengler, Northwestern, Fr. (10-4); Jason Jacobi, Pleasant Valley, So. (13-9).Notes - Ogozalek went 3-1 at the Schuylkill League tournament and defeated McHugh by a 3-1 decision for third place. McHugh had a solid week otherwise, going 4-2. The freshman dropped a 12-4 major decision to Pottsville's Luke Gardner over the weekend. Gardner went on to win the title at 113 pounds. Kemmerer picked up an 8-5 decision victory over Jacobi in his only match last week. The loss was Jacobi's only defeat of the week, as the sophomore reeled off a string of five straight wins, with three coming by fall, one by major decision and one by forfeit. Dengler did not wrestle last week.120 - 1. Kenny Yanovich, Pleasant Valley, Sr. (22-2); 2. Darren Goida, Panther Valley, So. (14-7); 3. Quentin Bernhard, Northwestern, So. (16-7).Honorable Mention - Antonio Lorenzo, Lehighton, Fr. (10-8); Austin Hemingway, Northern Lehigh, Fr. (10-9).Notes - Yanovich retains the top spot after a perfect 6-0 week. The senior bumped up to 126 pounds in his first match of the week against Lehighton's Tegan Durishin and managed a 6-4 decision victory. But Yanovich went back to 120 for his next five matches, winning all by fall with four ending in the first period. Goida went 2-2 at the Schuylkil League Championships and placed fifth at 120 pounds. Bernhard went 3-0 last week, picking up wins by fall, major decision and forfeit. Lorenzo lost a 9-4 decision to Pleasant Valley's Jonathan Klein in his only match last week. Hemingway had a big week to move into the rankings, going 5-3 to push his record over .500. The freshman picked up two wins by decision, two by forfeit and one by fall.126 - 1. Colin Mashack, Tamaqua, Sr. (17-1); 2. Matt Schmall, Northern Lehigh, So. (20-5); 3. Tegan Durishin, Lehighton, So. (13-10).Honorable Mention - Jarrett White, Northwestern, So. (15-10); Anthony McCue, Pleasant Valley, So. (13-9).Notes - Mashack went 3-0 at the Schuylkill League wrestling championships to claim the title at 126 pounds. The senior was dominant in all three bouts, picking up victories by fall, major decision and technical fall. Mashack also went 2-0 in Tamaqua's dual matches with Pottsville and Blue Mountain earlier in the week, picking up wins by fall in under a minute in each match. Schmall continued his impressive run last week, going 8-0. The sophomore had only one win by forfeit, two by tech. fall, three by fall and one via decision. Durishin was impressive in a loss to Pleasant Valley's Kenny Yanovich last week. The sophomore fell behind early but fought back to make it 6-4 at the end. With more time, Durishin might have taken the match. Jarrett White continues to wrestle well, going 2-1 last week, with his only loss coming to Southern Lehigh's Kyle Gorant. Like White, McCue continues to wrestle well, going 5-1 last week.132 - 1. Dylan Rynkiewicz, Tamaqua, Jr. (22-2); 2. Ali Capobianco, Jim Thorpe, So. (18-3); 3. Ryan Farber, Northern Lehigh, Fr. (18-8).Notes - Rynkiewicz went 3-0 at the Schuylkill League Championships en route to the title at 132 pounds. The junior was dominant, winning by fall in the quarterfinals and earning major decision victories in the semis and finals. Rynkiewicz also went 2-0 in Tamaqua's duals against Blue Mountain and Pottsville earlier in the week. Capobianco was on a collision course to meet Rynkiewicz in the finals before falling in the semis. The sophomore bounced back quickly, winning his next two matches to claim third. Farber went 6-2 last week, earning convincing wins in all of his matches. The freshman picked up two three wins by fall, two by tech. fall and one via major decision.138 - 1. Hunter Davidyock, Panther Valley, Jr. (13-12); 2. Josh Gornick, Lehighton, Jr. (12-10); 3. Andrew Ringler, Palmerton, Fr. (7-4).Notes - Davidyock went 2-2 at the Schuylkill League Championships, failing to medal. Davidyock picked up a major decision over Schuylkill Haven's Nathan Batz and a tech. fall victory over North Schuylkill's Tyler Budnavage before falling to Pottsville's Tyler Deiter, who finished fifth. Gornick won by forfeit in Lehighton's match against Pleasant Valley last week. Ringler did not wrestle for the Bombers last week.145 - 1. Josh Evans, Palmerton, Sr. (19-1); 2. Antonio Madera, Jim Thorpe, Fr. (13-8); 3. Conrad Young, Northern Lehigh, So. (14-9).Honorable Mention - Cole Moyer, Northwestern, So. (5-5).Notes - Evans picked up a narrow 3-1 decision win over Pen Argyl's Andrew Sutton in Palmerton's only match last week. Sutton is 17-6 this season. Madera had a strong showing in the Schuylkill League tournament over the weekend, going 3-2 on his way to a fourth place finish. Madera dropped a 5-2 decision to Pine Grove's Ryan Heim, who is 18-5 this season, in the third place match. Young went 6-2 for the Bulldogs last week, wrestling exclusively at 145 pounds. Moyer did not wrestle for Northwestern last week.152 - 1. Zack Christman, Palmerton, Jr. (18-3); 2. Garrett Gouger, Pleasant Valley, So. (16-8); 3. Chad Cederberg, Northern Lehigh, So. (9-8).Notes - Christman picked up a 10-2 major decision over Pen Argyl's Ryan Lobb in his only match last week. Gouger went 5-1 for the Bears last week. The sophomore was 2-0 at 152 pounds and 3-1 at 145. The victories were convincing, with two coming by fall and one coming by tech. fall. Cederberg joins the rankings after going 6-1 last week. The sophomore did well two pull out several narrow victories, earning decisions by 9-6, 4-0 and 2-0 margins, respectively.160 - 1. Zachary Graver, Palmerton, Jr. (14-0); 2. (11-11).Notes - Graver remains the last unbeaten of those with at least five matches. The junior picked up a win by way of forfeit in Palmerton's match against Pen Argyl last week. Farber, much like many of the other Northern Lehigh wrestlers, had a strong showing last week, going 7-1. The junior had only two wins by forfeit, two by fall and one by major decision. Cann looked good in his only match a week ago, picking up a 13-6 decision victory over Pleasant Valley's Trevor Dorn. Geisinger moves into contention after an impressive showing at the Schuylkill League Championships. The sophomore went 3-2, knocking off Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's Nick Kocan in the quarterfinals before earning a fourth place finish.170 - 1. Brody Keefe, Pleasant Valley, So. (16-7); 2. Austin Arnold, Northern Lehigh, Jr. (15-9); 3. Matt Buss, Panther Valley, Jr. (12-10).Honorable Mention - Timothy Gergor, Palmerton, Jr. (3-2).Notes - Keefe went 5-1 last week, picking up four wins by fall and one via forfeit. Three of the four pins came in the first period. Arnold also wrestled extremely well last week, going 7-1. Arnold's only loss was a 4-2 decision against Harry S. Truman's Jesse Huber, who is 16-0 this season. Buss went 2-2 at the Schuylkill League tournament, earning a fourth place finish. Gergor moves into the rankings after picking up a forfeit win in Palmerton's match against Pen Argyl.182 - 1. Connor Frey, Lehighton, So. (20-4); 2. Collin Moyer, Tamaqua, So. (15-13); 3. Dylan Moyer, Panther Valley, So. (14-11).Honorable Mention - Alex Russo, Northwestern, Jr. (12-12); Jared Mooney, Palmerton, Fr. (8-6).Notes - Frey maintains his position atop the rankings after a strong performance in his only match last week, picking up an 8-0 major decision win against Pleasant Valley's Trent Thomas. Frey is 7-1 in his last eight matches, with four wins by fall and two by major decision. Moyer joins the rankings and moves to number two after performing well at the Schuylkill League Championships, going 3-1 en route to a third place finish. Collin was scheduled to meet Dylan in the third place bout, but the latter pulled out and the former won by forfeit. Alex Russo also joins the group this week after going 2-1. The junior picked up 6-4 and 8-3 decisions in his two wins. Mooney did not wrestle for Palmerton last week.195 - 1. Richard Nase, Panther Valley, Sr. (15-2); 2. Kyle Oliphant, Tamaqua, So. (15-7); 3. Matt Wolfe, Palmerton, Jr. (11-6).Notes - Nase remains atop the standings after finishing second at the Schuylkill League tournament for the second consecutive year. Nase lost to Blue Mountain's Zach Yackenchick, who is 17-5 this season, by a 13-4 major decision in the finals. Oliphant moves from 182 to 195 after going 3-2, including 1-2 in the Schuylkill League tournament, a week ago. Wolfe lost his only match last week, getting pinned by Pen Argyl's Oliver Hayden, who is 12-8 this season, at 182 pounds.220 - 1. Rian Shubeck, Panther Valley, Jr. (17-4); 2. Stephen Scheib, Northern Lehigh, Jr. (9-7).Notes - After winning the title at 285 pounds at last year's Schuylkill League tournament, Shubeck came up just short this year, finishing second at 220 pounds. The junior dropped an 8-4 decision to Pine Grove's Ryan Martin, who is 24-2, in the finals. Scheib went 3-1 last week, picking up a 3-2 win in overtime against Bangor's Steven Luckey and a 1-0 decision over William Allen's Jamal Clayton. Scheib's loss came to Harry S. Truman's Jake Goodman, who is 7-4 this season.285 - 1. Ahmad Curtis, Pleasant Valley, Jr. (10-3); 2. Cameron Kates, Northern Lehigh, So. (18-9); 3. Alex Raub, Palmerton, Sr. (9-5).Honorable Mention - Lukas Mika, Panther Valley, Jr. (10-10).Notes - Curtis keeps the top spot after going 4-2 last week. Two of the junior's wins came via forfeit, while the other two came by fall in the first period. Kates moves from third to second after going 7-1 last week. Four of the sophomore's wins came by forfeit. Kates' lone defeat last week came to Great Valley's Dean Lang, who is 17-2 this season.
