Three teens injured in Franklin Township crash

Three teenagers were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash that happened about 11:30 this morning in Franklin Township. State rep. Doyle Heffley's daughter Elizabeth was one of the drivers in the crash but she was not injured.

According to reports at the scene, a teenage girl, Makala Blakeslee, 16, was driving a white Ford pickup when she hit a patch of ice on Pohopoco Drive and then hit a gray Honda driven by Heffley's daughter. Four teenage girls were passengers in Heffley's car.Three of them were injured. Heffley, 16, was not seriously injured.The collision sent Heffley's car into a black Subaru, occupied by a family. The family was not injured. Blakeslee's mother was a passenger in the pickup, but she also was not injured. The road was closed at Platz's while crews attended to the injured and cleaned up the scene.State police at Lehighton are investigating. Franklin Township fire department and several ambulance companies were on scene.
