Scout monument to be relocated

At Monday's Slatington Borough Council meeting former Troop 65 members Bill Carlton, along with Vince Morris, asked for permission to move a Boy Scout monument along Scout House Road to borough property near the downtown trailhead.

Carlton said the monument would receive much more viewing there and that the borough's upcoming sesquicentennial celebrations provided the perfect timing, since Troop 65 was one of the original Boy Scout troops in the state.Council approved the move.
