A Tamaqua man was arrested on Jan. 6 on an outstanding warrant issued by the Carbon County Adult Probation Office.
Tamaqua police received a tip on the whereabouts of Romero Lee McClain, 27, of 105 W. Rowe St., who was reportedly at that address. Officers were unable to gain access to the home and no one would answer the door. As police left the scene one officer stayed in the area and soon saw McClain leaving through the rear door, placing several items in a vehicle.McClain was then picked up and asked officers to secure an Apple I Mac computer, a laptop computer, and a black bag that contained a black box filled with jewelry.Carbon County officials took custody of McClain but would not take the property he had removed from the home.A short time later McClain's former partner, Danielle Jaso, 29, went to the police station to retrieve the computers and jewelry. Since both claimed to be the rightful owners the property was to remain in the police evidence locker until officers could determine the truth.
