Two men, who previously entered guilty pleas, were sentenced on drug and other criminal counts Monday in Carbon County court by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Jim Thorpe incidentAnthony M. Capriglione, 24, of Albrightsville, was sentenced to serve a total of six to one day less 24 months in the county prison followed by two years of probation.Capriglione was arrested on Dec. 8, 2012, by Jim Thorpe police for an incident in the area of Leffler's Service station along Front St. Police responded to the area to a report of a suspicious vehicle.On scene officers observed the vehicle and identified Capriglione as the driver. Through the investigation police learned Capriglione had made a drug sale. Found in the vehicle were four packs of heroin. In that case he pleaded to one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.Capriglione was also charged in another incident that occurred on July 3, 2012, at 140 Patten Circle, Penn Forest Township. State police at Lehighton responded to the residence for a suspicious vehicle in the driveway.The vehicle was gone when troopers arrived but one matching a description given by a witness was stopped a short distance from the scene and Capriglione was the driver.A consent search was made of the vehicle and found was copper pipes and other household items taken from the Patten Circle home. In that case he pleaded to one count each of criminal trespass and theft.The jail term was imposed on the drug charge. He was placed on probation for two years on the trespass and theft counts, running concurrent to each other but consecutive to the drug charge.Capriglione was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance imposed on D&A use, and supply a DNA sample.He was given credit for 99 days spent in jail to date on the charges.Lehighton incidentNelson Soler Jr., 21, of Allentown, was sentenced to serve one to two years in a state prison on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-heroin.He was arrested by agents of the state Attorney General's office after a search warrant was served on a residence along S. Second St., in Lehighton. Before the search a controlled buy was made by agents with Soler. Found in the home were 54 bags of heroin.In addition to the prison term, Serfass ordered Soler to get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance imposed on D&A use, and supply a DNA sample.He was given credit for 257 days spent in jail to date on the charges.Each defendant must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000.
